The documentary follows events in Ukraine as they unfolded over 93 days in 2013 and 2014, as student demonstrations grew into a revolution calling for the president to resign. Directed by Evgeny Afineevsky, Winter On Fire premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

It’s the latest in a documentary catalogue on Netflix that includes The Square, a film about Egypt’s Tahrir Square uprising; Nina Simone biopic What Happened, Miss Simone?; food doc The Search for General Tso; Time Is Illmatic about rapper Nas; and a forthcoming film about the Rolling Stones’ iconic guitar player, Keith Richards: Under The Influence.
