“Do you know what it means to be reborn a Sensate?” Well, we do now. From the look of this first trailer it means you’re in constant touch with another seven people all round the planet in a kind of “Heroes meets Cloud Atlas” style – handy when you need to do some punchy ninja fighting, probably a bit annoying when one of your other “seven selves” is dropping off for a nap. In other words, the kind of high-concept globe-trotting territory you might expect the Wachowskis to be exploring in their new 12-part sci-fi thriller coming soon to Netflix.
Along with The Matrix’s Joe Pantoliano, Cloud Atlas’s Doona Bae, Lost’s Naveen Andrews, Kill Bill star Daryl Hannah and Doctor Who’s Freema Agyeman, the international cast includes Brian J Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Jamie Clayton, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Tina Desai, , Aml Ameen, Max Riemelt, Terrence Mann, Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra, Adam Shapiro and Ness Bautista.
All twelve episodes launch Friday, June 5 on Netflix.
