Trailer for depraved Mother's Day horror has fans too scared to actually watch the movie

A terrifying new horror film looks set to terrify audiences for Mother's Day in the US.

Run stars Bird Box actress Sarah Paulson stars as the unnerving Diane, a mother who has raised her daughter Chloe (newcomer Kiera Allen) in total isolation and controlled her every move since she gave birth to her.

However, the tormented Diane proves to display increasingly disturbing behaviour and daughter Chloe discovers some increasingly dark secrets about her mother's past.

One scene in the trailer sees Diane watching her daughter as she tries to access the Internet but finds that there is no connection.

As she imprisons her daughter, Chloe must find a way to escape.

"You need me," says a frightening Diane.

Naturally, the film has provoked quite the reaction on social media, with fans seeing the twisted take on motherhood as a perfect companion film for Mother's Day.

One wrote on YouTube: "I'm not sure if i'm gonna be able to fall asleep tonight."

Another horror fan commented: "Horror with mothers...a super deadly combination that even pennywise fears."

Meanwhile, one viewer tweeted: "Run trailer was amazing. It looks really scary and I love scary. Can’t wait to see it (multiple times of course)."

Another fan joked: "Happy Mother’s Day mom lets go watch run!"

Finally, one Twitter user noted: "Woah, just watched the trailer for RUN and by far my most favorite part of it is how the letterbox tightens the frame at such a slow pace that you don't even notice it until it's too late."

It certainly looks like an horrific watch to take your mum to!

Sarah Paulson definitely knows about horror as she is set to return to Ryan Murphy's anthology series American Horror Story for its tenth season after sitting out from the ninth run,

She told Deadline: "I did ask Ryan if the question was asked to me, could I say that I was coming back, and he said ‘yes’ you could say.

"So, yes I will be back on American Horror Story ."

Run does not currently have a UK release date but is released in US cinemas on May 8, 2020.
