Trailer for season two of Netflix show YOU has been released

The trailer for the second series of Netflix show YOU has been released.

Fans can finally see a glimpse into how the thriller will continue to unfold as Joe Goldberg starts a new life in Los Angeles.

The first series, which was released in September 2018, captivated audiences as they followed the lengths the creepy bookstore manager would go to for love.

The show puts viewers inside Joe's head, played by Penn Badgley, which is instantly demonstrated in the new trailer.

"You know, love has taken me to some pretty dark places," the clip begins with a monologue by the serial killer.

Joe meticulous scrutinises every customer in the coffee shop, stating that they are all hiding behind a facade.

He mocks a hippy-like figure savouring a gluten-free muffin, a writer who is "not writing anything ground-breaking", before declaring that "everyone in LA is pretending to be someone they're not".

The trailer enters the mind of Joe in a coffee shop in LA (Netflix)

When the cashier asks for a name for his order, Joe reveals his new alias: "I'm Will".

The preview is backed by an eerie soundtrack with a sudden break of silence to cut to the series' title.

Netflix US posted the clip to their Twitter account, stating that YOU season 2 will land on Netflix on Boxing Day - December 26.

The post has received 7.7k likes, 2k retweets and nearly 300 comments in just an hour, with avid followers sharing their excitement for the release.

One said: "Didn’t know it was possible to be creeped out and excited at the same time" while another social media user posted: "OH. MY. FREAKING. GOD".

But hundreds of Netflix-lovers used the post as an excuse to call on the TV streaming service to renew Anne with an E.

In the meantime, you can still watch or catch-up on season 1 of YOU on Netflix, which has been rated as 93 per cent by Rotten Tomatoes.
