A gripping trailer for the hotly-anticipated Braveheart sequel has been released ahead of its premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival .
The movie, which is called Robert the Bruce and stars Angus Macfadyen, will pick things up from where the 1995 hit starring Mel Gibson left off.
The first showing will be in the capital on June 23, before it hits the cinemas five days later.
The movie also stars Daniel Portman who plays Podrick Payne in Game of Thrones, Jared Harris from The Crown and Chernobyl, Kevin McNally of Pirates of the Caribbean and Emma Kenney from Shameless among a host of other top actors.
It will also feature original music from Lulu.
The film will follow Robert the Bruce's story as he struggles to overcome England's power, and after a near-death experience goes in search of freedom.
Robert the Bruce is just the latest feature film about the Scottish King's life following last year's Outlaw King which featured Chris Pine – and was also premiered in the city.
The film festival will run from Wednesday 19 June to Sunday 30 July, with hilarious Scottish movie Boyz in the Wood kicking things off at the Opening Gala.
Another highlight will be the totally free Film Fest in the City series of outdoor screenings, sponsored by Edinburgh Live , in St Andrew Square.
