Trai Turner responds to Cameron Jordan trolling Panthers again: ‘Relax’

Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan is easily the most compelling villain in the NFC South these days for the Panthers. In addition to being a nightmare matchup on the field, Jordan seems to relish in any chance he gets to troll Carolina. He famously sent a bottle of wine and a broom to Cam Newton following a three-game sweep in the 2017 season.

Apparently, Jordan is taking it to another level this year. On Twitter Friday afternoon he responded to a tweet from the Panthers’ team account wishing good luck to Zion Williamson, who played college ball at Duke and went No. 1 overall to the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA draft a few days ago. Jordan told the team Williamson is “one of us now,” and essentially to stick to the Charlotte Hornets.

One guy who has lined up across from Jordan about as much as anybody is the Panthers’ four-time Pro Bowl right guard Trai Turner, who responded to Jordan’s latest antics with a simple one-word message: relax.

While Jordan has given Carolina plenty of problems these last eight years, it’s worth noting that the Panthers have done better against him than the other two teams in the NFC South.

Jordan has played 16 games total against each of his division rivals. Against Atlanta, he’s posted 14 sacks and 28 quarterback hits. Facing the Buccaneers, he’s totaled 11.5 sacks and 21 QB hits. By comparison, Jordan “only” has eight sacks and 16 QB hits against Carolina.

That speaks to Cam Newton’s elusiveness, which is something Jordan has complimented him for publicly in the past.

The Panthers will face the Saints Week 12 in New Orleans and Week 17 at home this year.
