'Tragic' vegan lasagne convinces no one ditch meat - and gets abuse from vegans

Delicious, yummy, comforting lasagne.

As dishes go, its combination of meat, cheese, pasta layers and creamy bechamel means it's practically perfect.

But does that mean a vegan lasagne can be any less delicious?

Not at all. However, a photo which has been doing the rounds on social media one isn't likely to convince anyone of this.

Twitter user AristaFbabi shared an image of a "vegan lasagne" which will do nothing to entice people to ditch meat and dairy.

"Coworker brought in vegan lasagna today and I’m ready to knock that sh*t over," read the salty caption.

From what we can see, instead of lasagne sheets, lettuce has been used.

The delicious crispy cheese on the top? That's been replaced by raw tomatos.

People were quick to express their outrage, and describe the dish as a "flat salad" among other, less polite things.

Even members of the vegan community were left baffled with one writing: "1. I'm vegan 2. Idk what this is."

Another lady even pointed out what a vegan lasagne should look like.

As one wise soul pointed out, a mean needn't be bland just because it doesn't contain any meat.

Others saw the salad/"lasagne" hybrid as an opportunity to share proper recipes.

"Make vegan ricotta out of cashews, nutritional yeast, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and lemon juice. Vegan lasagna done right is fire" suggested one person.

Now, that we WOULD like to try.
