Tragic teen dies after road accident in Cabra, north Dublin

A teenager has died following a fatal road traffic accident in Cabra, north Dublin this evening.

The boy, who was in his late teens, was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with a car at around 6pm on Carnlough Road at the junction with St. Finbars Road.

He was rushed to the Mater Hospital but died a short time later.

A woman in her 30s, who was driving the car, was taken to Blanchardstown Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The road remains closed while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently at scene and local diversions are in place.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are appealing to any persons who may have witnessed the collision or any road users who may have camera footage prior to the collision to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 - 6667000, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
