Crowds gathered at the tragic scene in south Dublin just moments after a man was stabbed to death in the neck last night.
Dozens of people congregated in the Tallaght housing estate where the 25-year-old was fatally attacked.
Emergency services can be seen in the area among the concerned community members.
The stabbing happened at approximately 7:15pm at Mac Uilliam Road.
The man sustained serious injuries and was taken to Tallaght University Hospital where he later passed away.
A post mortem will be carried out today.
A second man in his 40s was also injured and taken to hospital.
He is being treated for non life threatening injuries.
Gardai are appealing to any persons who may have witnessed the incident or were in the area between 6.30pm and 7.15pm or any passing taxis with dash cam footage to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01 666 6000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
