An 18-year-old student who was found dead in a Birkenhead flat had hanged himself, a court heard.
David Stuart Hodgson was found in his flat on September 19 last year, Liverpool Coroner's court heard.
Police were then called to the flat on Grange Road West.
Coroner André Rebello said that two ligatures made from clothing were attached to David's neck.
He said that marks were found on David's neck were consistent with those a ligature of this type would make.
Police found that a third party was not involved.
A subsequent post-mortem by a Home Office pathologist found that David, a student, died from hanging.
He was not suffering from any known disease.
Mr Rebello said that David would have lost consciousness rapidly.
He said: "His heart would have stopped rapidly. David would have not known an awful lot during those tragic few seconds."
Mr Rebello recorded a verdict of suicide.
He directly addressed David's family, who were in court.
He said: "David had problems, but you are not human if you do not have problems. You loved David and David loved you.
"Let's remember David the person.
"Your love for him will endure."
