A motorcyclist who died following a collision with a tractor in South Ayrshire has been named by police tonight.
Jamie Boyd from Dailly was killed on Monday morning after a crash on the B741.
The 30-year-old's black Suzuki SV 650 motorcycle collided with a yellow JCB 4220 tractor at Hamilton Bridge near the village around 7.35am.
Emergency services raced to the area but Mr Boyd was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor was uninjured.
The road was closed for around six hours to allow investigation work to be carried out.
Police would like to hear from witnesses or motorists with dash-cam footage as they try to establish exactly what happened.
Sergeant Kenneth Malaney, of Police Scotland’s road policing unit, said on Monday: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this very difficult time."
