Tragic podcaster Mat George recorded final episode of She Rates Dogs that may never air

Mat George’s podcast co-host Michaela Okland has revealed that she’s taking a break following the star’s tragic death.

The Arizona based content creator was killed in a hint and run his co-host Michaela confirmed the news on Twitter on Saturday night.

The star took to the social media site to inform their fans and told that she is struggling to come to terms with the fact that her close friend and colleague is now gone.

"I would rather you guys here this from me than a news article. Mat was killed in a hit and run last night," she wrote.

The podcaster added: "I don’t really have any other words right now. I wish I could contact everybody who knows him personally but the news is already out and I just can’t do it right now."

Following the devastating accident, Michaela has now decided to break an extended break to deal with her colossal loss, meaning that the final episode of She Rates Dogs may never air.

The episode, that was due to air on Tuesday, is now sitting in limbo as the podcast host revealed that she’s putting it on hold until it feels right to release it.

“I am not ready to talk about everything, or to have to use past-tense to describe him,” Michaela told her Twitter followers.

"I think you all knew within 10 seconds of listening to him how vibrant, loving, accepting, and wonderful Mat George is. This community made him so happy. Your words and support made him so happy.”

The star thanked their podcast fans for their support following Mat’s tragic passing and gushed over her late friend’s popularity.

“Thank you to everybody who’s reached out, I’m really sorry but I probably won’t respond for a while even if we are close,” she continued.

“And thank you so much to everybody telling stories and sharing how he impacted you.

“Whenever you do think of him in the future, please do talk about him.”

It comes after the 26-year-old was tragically struck and killed by a white BMW heading eastbound on Beverly Boulevard, in Los Angeles, at around 2.30am on Saturday.

The star reportedly wasn't crossing the street at a marked crosswalk and the BMW continued without stopping after the incident, according to police.

Mat was pronounced dead at the tragic scene.
