Tragic mum, 20, murdered in front of baby daughter as thieves break into home in Greece

A woman has been murdered in front of her 11-month-old baby daughter in Greece, during a violent burglary at the family home.

Police say burglars tied the British woman's 32-year-old husband to a chair and tracked down the wife, who was asleep upstairs.

Detectives are looking for three suspects who are said to have broken in and killed the family's pet dog to stop it from alerting neighbours.

The unnamed woman, believed to have been in her early 20s, was beaten and possibly strangled to death by the burglars, Greek Police sources tell the Mirror.

The suspects, who were described as wearing dark hoodies, reportedly ran off with €15,000 in cash and other valuables.

Around 6am the husband reportedly wriggled free and went upstairs, where he found his dead wife's body next to the crying baby.

The man and his young daughter were taken to hospital, while forensics officers began searching the family's home.

They are said to be scouring CCTV if the local area for any sign of the men.
