Tragic last picture of motorcyclist taken day before horror crash that killed him

The final picture of a tragic motorcyclist who was killed by a horror crash has been released by his family.

Reece James Clarke died two days after the motorbike he was riding collided with a van on Menlove Avenue on April 23.

Mr Clarke was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and on April 24, his 21st birthday , his condition was updated to critical.

Reece sadly died on April 25, with his family describing him as a "lovely, caring, generous young man".

Posting on a newly created Facebook page, the Reece James Clarke campaign, Reece's family posted the last picture ever taken of him.

According to sister Gemma, who runs the page, the photograph was taken the day before the crash by Reece's dad, who is also a keen biker.

Tory tries to apologise for anti-Liverpool slur - but risks making things worse with 'different accent' claim

The post includes a picture that shows Reece sitting on the ground and looking at his phone, and it said: "This was the last picture our dad took of Reece, the day they both went riding together, the day before this tragic happened."

Talking about why she set up the page, Gemma said: "I have set this page up in memory of him and to start campaigning to make people aware that there are bikers on the road and to keep a good eye on the road.

"We will be starting our campaigns in a few weeks' time as we need to sort some things as a family for him.

"Please know we as a family are in talks about what we can do to campaign for people to be aware.

"So please keep an eye on the post in a few weeks."

Speaking to the ECHO , Gemma also revealed that Reece's family made the selfless decision to donate his organs after his death.

Reece's liver, kidneys and pancreas were donated to people in need, potentially saving their lives.

Hundreds of people have paid heartbreaking tributes to Reece across social media and on the Liverpool ECHO site.

George Gina on Facebook said: "I’m just Distraught. I idolised him.

"Our beautiful angel xxxx"

Suzanne Moore also said: "What an absolute tragedy for this young man, his family and friends. RIP x"

In a statement released through  Merseyside Police , Reece's family said: "He will be remembered for being a lovely, caring, generous young man. His passion in life was gaming and social media, but he always made time for his family.

“Reece had the most outgoing personality and he was loved by everyone.

"He was the greatest uncle to his nephew and a loving brother to his sister.

“Due to the ongoing investigation we do not know exactly what happened, all we know was Reece was travelling home from his first day at a new job, the day the collision happened.”

Merseyside Police are not 'directly co-operating' with Hunted cop's search for fugitive

Officers continue to appeal to anyone that witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage to get in touch @MerPolCC quoting log 763 of 23/4/19.
