Tragic Jeremy Kyle guest Steve Dymond applied to be on the show 300 times, an audience member has claimed.
The Jeremy Kyle Show has been cancelled after Steve was found dead just days after filming an episode.
He went on the ITV talk show to take a lie detector test to prove he hadn't cheated on his fiancée and was left devastated when he failed it.
The show was pulled off the air on Monday after the 63-year-old was found dead in a suspected suicide, and ITV yesterday announced they were axing the programme permanently.
Now, an audience member who was at the Manchester studios claims Steve revealed on his episode that he'd tried to get on the show hundreds of times.

Aiden Dugdale, 20, who was in the audience for the recording of Steve's unaired episode, told The Sun : "He explained to us in the audience that he’d tried to come on the show before.
"He said he’d called about 300 times. Jeremy even joked about it, saying, 'Does anyone at ITV ever answer the phones?'"
Carolyn McCall, ITV’s CEO, said in a statement yesterday: "Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.
"The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.
"Everyone at ITV's thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond.
"The previously announced review of the episode of the show is underway and will continue.
