A devastating event shook the community of Sayreville, New Jersey, as a 9-year-old boy lost his life in a horrific incident involving his father. The father, identified as a 43-year-old man, was charged with aggravated arson after setting a car on fire at Sayreville War Memorial High School following a domestic dispute at their family home.
The authorities were alerted to the situation when Sayreville police responded to a call at the family's residence late Thursday night. Upon arrival, they were informed that the father had left the home with the young boy. Around the same time, a fire was reported near the high school.
Police discovered the father next to the burning vehicle, which he had doused with gasoline. He sustained burns to his body and a self-inflicted wound and was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment. Tragically, the lifeless body of the boy was found inside the car, although it remains unclear whether he perished in the fire or prior to the vehicle being set ablaze.
