Tragic Harry Hains' last post as he looked forward to 'new era' just days before sudden death

Harry Hains' looked forward to the new year and a "new era" in the last post he made to social media before his sudden death this week.

The 27-year-old actor, who starred in American Horror Story: Hotel, had struggled with mental illness and drug addiction.

Just a week ago he took to Instagram to post a picture of himself and a friend at a New Year's Eve party as he looked ahead.

Dressed in a bright pink spotted suit and a red baseball cap, Harry posed with a friend in a sparkly dress and top hat in a room full of balloons.

Harry captioned the photo: "TO 2020!×××The NEW ERA has already begun.

"So let's all keep only moving forward, staying so present to enjoy each & every moment throughout this beautiful new BEGINNING - HAPPY N3W YEAR peeeeps

"SO MUCH LOVE & GRATITUDE FOR ALL IN MY LIFE."

Harry's mother Neighbours actress Jane Badler confirmed that he'd passed away in an Instagram post on Friday.

She said: "He was 27 and had the world at his feet. But sadly he struggled with mental illness and addiction.

"A brilliant spark shone bright too short a time... I will miss you, Harry, every day of my life."

Jane did not confirm her son's cause of death, but invited his friends and fans to his funeral on Sunday January 12 at Hollywood Forever.

Harry had starred in the Netflix series The OA and was based in Los Angeles to cement his acting career.

He had planned to continue making more music under his stage name ANTIBOY and going into fashion.
