A superfit Instagram influencer who said " Covid does not exist”, then died after contracting the virus, wrote a tragic final post.
Fitness coach Dmitriy Stuzhuk, 33, wrote a post saying his condition was “stable” before succumbing to the killer bug.
He shared an update with his one million followers after he caught coronavirus, even posing shirtless for photos as he received oxygen in hospital.
The dad-of-three, whose youngest child is just nine-months-old, wrote: “I want to share how I got sick and to strongly warn everyone. I was one who thought that Covid does not exist. Until I got sick.”
On social media he appeared to be in perfect health as he promoted sports and healthy living but his ex-wife Sofia Stuzhuk, 25, who announced his death, said Covid-19 had triggered heart complications.
In his final Instagram post, Dmitriy, a fitness coach and model, told his fans that he woke up in the middle of the night with a breathing difficulties, a swollen neck and a sore stomach during a trip to Turkey.
He wrote: “There were no particular symptoms of the disease either, so I thought that these could be consequences of playing sports, the different climate and nutrition, and plus sleeping under air conditioning.”
Dmitriy carried on with his trip and went to a hospital for tests and scans when he returned to Ukraine.
“Just in case, they decided to take a test for Covid. It turned out to be positive,” he wrote.
He was given oxygen as his treatment for coronavirus began, but the hospital was undergoing renovations and was “completely filled” with patients.
He wrote: “Some of them are in the corridor. There is no food, no cutlery either. Nobody warned me about this.”
Dmitriy said his oxygen level was “low” but a doctor said it would be “quite permissible” for him to continue his treatment at home.
He added: “I made the decision that it will be more convenient and comfortable for me to be in remote care at home, where I have all the requirements for normal treatment.
“In the end, I can always turn to the right services. At home, as they say, the walls heal. My condition is stable.”
Dmitriy was discharged from the overcrowded hospital after eight days, but was rushed back just hours later and his condition rapidly deteriorated.
Dmitriy suffered clinical death but medics restarted his heart. His ex-wife later announced his death. In a heartbreaking tribute, Sofia posted a series of pictures of the couple and their children, and wrote: “God, I’m so sad that you didn’t listen to me about your health.
“For the rest of my life I will remain grateful to you for our three beautiful children.”
