Tragic end teased for Emmerdale favourite in huge barn fire

Some Emmerdale favourites could be set for grizzly ends in the soap’s first major stunt since the coronavirus pandemic struck.

In the last year, the way the ITV soap is filmed has dramatically changed because of Covid-19. It has seen restrictions introduced on set to ensure the virus doesn’t spread.

Sneak peek footage shows Moira, played by Natalie J Robb, stuck in the barn while it is on fire. It is unknown if any other characters are also trapped inside with the stunt looking like one of the show’s biggest in recent years.

The Sun has revealed details from a planning document for the stunt. It reads: “We will use structural timbers, with the addition of some specialist ‘breakaway’ stunt material, in some areas, to ensure the maximum visual impact & the highest level of safety.”

Earlier this year, Emmerdale series producer Laura Shaw discussed a big ambitious storyline which could result in a tragic end for a popular character in the ITV soap.

Quite likely, this could be the storyline she was referring to. The series producer explained: “I think what we have planned is undoubtedly our most ambitious work since the dreaded Covid hit us.

"And it's challenging, to say the least."

She added: "But I know already it's going to be epic and truly rewarding for our fans who love it when we go big.

“I can't say much more than that, I don't think, but what I can tell you is that ultimately, this story will end in tragedy for one of our characters, but the question is who?"

We’ll bring you more news on the stunt when we have further information.
