Tragic Derek Acorah's 20th anniversary tour 'cancelled' after TV star's death

Derek Acorah's upcoming 2020 tour dates have been "cancelled" after he died at home on Friday night.

The news the TV medium died aged 69 was made public by his devastated wife Gwen announced.

The self-styled spiritual medium, who starred in Celebrity Big Brother and the Most Haunted series, died last night from sepsis brought on by pneumonia.

He was set to tour this year for his 20th anniversary.

Mirror Online are led to believe the star's dates have been called off after a Facebook post paid tribute to the star suggests his Scotland tour will no longer go ahead after his death.

The post, which was shared by director Scottish events Davie Hanson, read: "The Scottish tour has been cancelled due to the sad passing of Derek.

"On behalf of myself and promoters Wullie Burns Frank Martin Laura Brand Martin Brand we would like to pass on our deepest sympathy to Gwen & family.

"I never knew the man very well however I found him easy to deal with and talk to, rest in peace Derek x".

Derek claimed to be able to talk to the dead - but was challenged on this by some unconvinced members of the public (Living TV)

However a rep for Derek has been contacted by Mirror Online for comment.

Davie - who organised the tour and had promoters selling tickets for each venue - told The Mirror late Derek was "a lovely man to talk to".

He said: "I sadly found out today about Derek. He was a lovely man to talk to.

"For the three Scottish dates the promoters have already started refunds."

Davie also shared people who have bought tickets will need to contact the person they have purchased them from for a full refund.
