Tragic Chantelle Keenan, 7, killed in driveway accident in Drogheda laid to rest in Finglas, Co Dublin

A young girl who was tragically killed when a car rolled over her in a driveway was laid to rest this afternoon.

Seven-year-old Chantelle Keenan passed away after the incident in Boyle O’Reilly Terrace in Drogheda, Co Louth at around 2.30pm last Sunday.

It is understood that a number of children were playing close to the car when it began to move.

Chantelle was seriously injured at the scene and was immediately rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

And mourners gathered in St. Canice's Church, Finglas today for the youngster's funeral mass.

Last week tributes from friends and family poured in online for the tragic youngster.

One said: “RIP little angel, I’m so sorry for your loss.”

Another said: “May God mind her, it’s all so terrible.

“RIP little lady.”

Another mourner added: “Poor little princess, rest in peace x”
