Old Firm fans have paid a heartfelt tribute to a tragic Celtic-daft youngster who died in his sleep.

Little Shay McGinlay, from Livingston, passed away in his sleep on Friday.

The Hoops-mad boy had suffered from Cerebral Palsy and had been supported by numerous Celtic fans.

His mum Mary Morrison shared the heartbreaking news on social media.

A moving tribute to Shay was displayed at half-time during the Celtic and Rangers clash at Parkhead after Mary asked football fans to help share her plea.

"Does anyone know How will I go about it at such short notice?"

The message then appeared today during the game reading "God bless our Shay Bhoy, taken far too soon."

Fans on both sides of the Old Firm paid their respects to the youngster on social media.

Speaking after the tribute was display, Michelle said: "Looks like the walk with shay guys have managed to sort Our beautiful Bhoy to be on the screen at the old firm game today."

On Twitter, Eddie Kane said: "God bless the wee man. May the Angels take him in their embrace, welcome him, give him peace and guide him to his loved ones that are waiting on him."
