Seven employees of Brawner Builders were present on the Francis Scott Key Bridge during a collapse incident, as confirmed by Brawner Builders Executive Vice President Jeffrey Pritzker. Out of the seven workers, one miraculously survived while the other six are sadly presumed dead.
Pritzker expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the workers as 'wonderful young men' who were dedicated and hardworking individuals. The survivor, who is currently dealing with injuries and emotional distress, has not yet shared details of his experience.
Remarkably, the survivor managed to swim to safety following the collapse, a fact that Pritzker found astonishing. The group of workers, most of whom had been with Brawner Builders for years, were engaged in concrete remediation work on the Key Bridge at the time of the tragic event.
The owner of Brawner Builders spent the night of the collapse in prayer, hoping for the safe return of their employees. However, as the grim reality set in that the other six workers were likely lost, the company's leadership gathered with the families to offer support and comfort during this difficult time.
Pritzker assured that the families of the deceased workers would be well taken care of, mentioning that the company is actively working on compensation packages to support them through this tragedy.
