Tragedy continues as 42 more covid deaths recorded at Liverpool City Region hospitals

Tragedy and devastation are continuing to hit the Liverpool City Region, with 42 further covid-19 deaths announced.

On Thursday, a harrowing update from NHS England said that 33 further covid patients had died at the city region's hospitals.

Since then, the Trusts serving our region have reported another 42 virus deaths in a shocking update.

Liverpool continues to be the worst affected area, with its main University Hospitals Trust adding 17 more fatalities to its numbers - which are now just shy of 700.

There were also 10 new deaths reported by Wirral's main Trust, six in St Helens and Knowsley and five in Southport.

While these deaths did not all occure in the past 24 hours, they did all happen between October 21 and 30.

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 20

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 691 (+17)

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust - 4 (+1)

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust - 196 (+5)

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - 284 (+6)

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust - 10

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 294 (+10)

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 190 (+3)

NHS England said that across the country, a further 208 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 32,855.

Patients were aged between 26 and 101 years old. All except eight (aged 47-101) had known underlying health conditions.

Dates of death ranges from 21 to 30 October 2020.
