Tragedy as woman found dead in Chapel Allerton area of Leeds

A woman has been found dead at an address in the Chapel Allerton area of Leeds, police have confirmed.

Fire, police and ambulance services were at the scene on Allerton Grange Croft, Leeds, and specialist services were brought in over concerns that there may be chemicals present.

West Yorkshire Police have now confirmed that a woman was sadly found dead at the scene.

The duty inspector confirmed earlier that no other homes in the area were affected.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 12.11pm today, police received a report raising concerns for a woman at an address in Allerton Grange Croft, Leeds.

"Officers attended and the woman was found dead in the property.

"Specialist emergency services resources attended as a precaution due to the potential presence of chemicals at the address. The scene was subsequently confirmed as safe.

"There were no suspicious circumstances in relation the death and the Coroner’s Office has been informed."

The road was closed off to the public while the emergency services worked at the scene.
