Tragedy as woman dies after being hit by car on Leeds ring road

Police have named the woman who tragically lost her life in after being hit by a car in Whitkirk last week.

On Tuesday 12 January, Susan Clarke, 68, died from her injuries.

The Major Collision Enquiry Team are continuing to appeal for information with enquiries ongoing into the crash on the A6120 Leeds Outer Ring Road, close to the junction with Whitkirk Lane.

The incident occurred after a Ford Kuga approached the junction from the direction of Cross Gates and hit Mrs Clarke as she was crossing the road.

Sergeant Mick Kilburn of West Yorkshire Police's Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “Enquiries into this fatal collision are ongoing and I am appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have Dashcam, CCTV or phone footage of the incident to come forwards.

"Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101 quoting log number 302 of 12 January."
