Tragedy as toddler dies after being hit by low loader lorry in farm accident

Police in Ireland have launched an investigation after a three-year-old boy died in a tragic farm accident.

The incident happened at around 4.30pm near the town of Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, the Irish Mirror reported .

It is understood the tot was struck by a low loader lorry and was rushed to Wexford General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A police spokesman said: "A three-year-old boy received serious injuries when he was hit by what is described as a low loader.

"He was taken to Wexford General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Investigations are continuing."

A spokesman for Ireland's Health and Safety Authority said: "Yes, we are aware of the incident and have launched an investigation."

In 2018, another three-year-old boy was crushed to death by a 4x4 being driven by his dad at a Welsh farm.

Evan Williams died after falling out of the back of the vehicle dad Dewi was driving as it reversed.

The little boy’s mum Sian and older sister were also in the Land Rover and witnessed the horrific accident.
