Tragedy as police find body in search for missing 15-year-old girl last seen last night

Police searching for a missing teenage girl in Doncaster have found a body today.

The girl, known only as Angelica, was last seen at 11pm last night at her home address in the Hyde Park area of the town.

Officers from South Yorkshire Police had been out searching across Hyde Park today looking for the teen.

But in a tragic update, the force have revealed that officers searching for her have found a body.

And although formal identification is yet to take place it is believed to be that of Angelica, with her family being informed of the discovery.

In a statement South Yorkshire Police said: "Officers searching for missing Doncaster teenager Angelica have today found a body.

"Formal ID is yet to take place but it is believed to be Angelica.

"Her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this time.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Thank you to everybody that shared our appeal it is very much appreciated."

Devastated locals have rallied round to send their condolences to Angelica's family.

One said: "So sad R.I.P. she was beautiful. Condolences to the family."

Another said: "Oh god how awful. Thinking of her loved ones."
