A mountain biker has died after suffering a cardiac arrest while riding with a friend in the Peak District.
The tragedy happened on the Causeway near Stanage Pole on Saturday (October 24), YorkshireLive reports.
An off-duty doctor and nurse were passing at the time and tried to save the casualty's life using CPR but were unable to do so.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance a Critical Care Paramedic, Yorkshire Ambulance Service staff and South Yorkshire Police, all responded along with Edale Mountain Rescue to the scene.
But despite all of their efforts, the casualty could not be resuscitated.
A post on the Edale Mountain Rescue Facebook page explained what had happened and added: "Thank you to the off duty doctor and nurse for all their help.
"Our thoughts go out to their family and friends at this terribly sad time."
