Tragedy as man's body discovered at scenic Scots harbour

A man's body has been found at a scenic Scots harbour.

Cops made the grim discovery around 2pm today at Burnmouth Harbour in Eyemouth in the Scottish Borders.

Police were joined by the Eyemouth and Berwick Coastguard team and the RNLI lifeboat from Eyemouth to the incident.

It is unclear at this time whether the body was found in the water.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers are currently in attendance near to Burnmouth harbour following the discovery of a man's body which was reported to police at around 2.15pm on Tuesday, 27 July.

“Officers remain at the scene."

Eyemouth Coastguard posted on Facebook: "Eyemouth and Berwick Coastguard team where tasked today along with RNLI Eyemouth Lifeboat and Police Scotland to an incident north of Burnmouth Harbour.

"Remember If you see anyone in danger on our coastline, cliffs or on the water, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
