Tragedy as man found dead in County Durham café car park, police confirm

A man has been found dead in a café car park in County Durham, police have confirmed.

Durham Constabulary said they were called to Seaham Hall Beach car park, near Tonia’s café, at around 10.20am on Friday.

The car park was cordoned off as police were called to the scene and residents were urged to avoid the area.

The force has since confirmed that a man was found dead in the car park.

The force added that it did not believe there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary confirmed this afternoon: "A man was found deceased in a car in the Tonia’s cafe car park in Seaham this morning.

"It is not believed there were any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
