A man has tragically died and a woman left seriously injured after a horror crash in Micklefield.
Emergency services were called to the A63 Selby road at 2.19pm yesterday afternoon, December 2, after reports there had been a crash between a car and a lorry at 2.19pm
The driver of the car, a 72 year old man, suffered serious injuries in the accident and tragically died at the scene.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The passenger, a 70 year old woman was also taken to hospital with serious injuries, although they are not deemed to be life threatening.
At present the road remains closed in both directions, with officers stationed at the scene while accident investigation work takes place.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the manner of driving prior to the incident, or anyone with dashcam footage to contact 101, quoting log 809 of 2 December.
