A man has died after falling from the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle.
Emergency services were called to the Quayside on Saturday afternoon following reports of an incident.
Police, paramedics and fire crews attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are now working to identify the man to notify his next of kin.
They have said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "At 12pm today (Saturday), police received a report that a man had fallen from the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle.
"Emergency services attended however, sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
"Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify the man and contact his next of kin.
"There is not believed to be any third party involvement and a report is being prepared for the Coroner.”
