A 57-year-old man has died after being rescued from the water in Ardrossan.
The man was recovered from water at the rear of a meat warehouse off Princes Street in the North Ayrshire town on Tuesday, June 1.
He was subsequently rushed to Kilmarnock's Crosshouse Hospital but he tragically died later.
The death is being treated by police as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
Emergency services first raced to the scene behind Robert's Fine Foods around 5.50pm after a person was reported to be in distress.
Cops and HM Coastguard then worked together to rescue the man.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Ardrossan can confirm that a 57-year-old man who had been recovered from the water off Princes Street shortly after 5.50pm on Tuesday, June 1, and taken to Crosshouse Hospital has died.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
