The body of a fisherman who went missing on Friday night has been found.
The man, in his 50s, was reported as missing at around 8.30pm after going fishing in the Blackwater River near Ballyduff, Co Waterford.
A search operation was launched involving gardai, Fermoy Search & Rescue and the Blackwater Sub Aqua Club.
Gardai have now confirmed the fisherman's body was located at around 7.30am on Saturday.
It's believed the investigation is being treated as a "tragic accident".
A garda spokesman told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí in Lismore are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of a man, aged in his 50s, whose body was recovered from the river in Ballyduff, Co. Waterford today, Saturday 20th June 2020.
"A search operation was conducted with assistance by Fermoy Search & Rescue and the discovery was made at approximately 7.30am this morning.
"The body of the man has been taken to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem will take place.
"Inquiries are ongoing."
