Tragedy as body found in search for missing Paisley man

The body of man has been discovered in woods near a Renfrewshire farm.

A major search operation was launched at Hattrick Farm, Bridge of Weir at 10.20am today after a car was discovered in water nearby.

Police confirmed the incident was linked to the search for missing Paisley man David Letham.

The 35-year-old was last seen in the Foxbar area of the town in the early hours of this morning.

A force spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that around 2.40pm today, the body of a man in was recovered in woods near Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire.

"Although formal identification has still to take place, the family of David Letham, reported missing earlier today, has been informed.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened but the death is not believed to be suspicious. As with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
