Tragedy and mystery over Dillon The Hacker's death as PewDiePie pays tribute

PewDiePie 's arch-enemy Dillon The Hacker is said to have passed away last month but his death remains shrouded in mystery.

In recent days, rumours started swirling suggesting the Internet star, whose name was Dillon Henderson, had died at the age of 20.

Many fans were convinced online stories were a hoax, until PewDiePie seemingly confirmed the news in a tweet yesterday.

He wrote: "Dillon the hacker was such a talented young comedian.

"He successfully trolled my entire audience at one point. Such sad news to hear about his passing.

"My condolences to his family and close ones. RIP Dillon."

Later reports have suggested Dillon actually died a month ago, but his family decided against making the news public.

His last tweets were sent on July 28 when he was writing about watching an episode of Boy Meets World.

Very little is known about what happened to Dillon The Hacker, but tributes have poured in from his pals, including roommate Tyler Damsma.

His heartbreaking post on Twitter suggested Dillon died on July 28. He wrote: "The world is a dark place. I am now living in a movie that has ended.

"The main character is no longer here."

His best friend and collaborator BG Kumpi aka Kevin Stafford later tweeted: “It was hard to keep this in for so long.

"RIP Dillon... my only friend in this dark world. Drink a Mountain Dew in Heaven with Jesus for me buddy.”

Dillon the hacker and PewdeePie had a long standing feud

Dillon famously feuded with PewDiePie in an online battle that went on for years.

He first started getting attention when he posted a clip titled "PewDiePie roast... PewDiePie sucks!" back in 2014.

In the clip, he shouted at the camera, branding the YouTuber a "joke" and threatened to throw him "in a trashcan". He even called himself PewDiePie's "worst nightmare".

His friends paid tribute on social media (Youtube)

He kept posting the videos, and he regularly insulted the YouTuber, claimed to have taken over his channel and even declared that he'd stolen his girlfriend.

Dillon racked up around 136,000 subscribers to his own channel and nearly 27 million views.

The sad news came just days after PewDiePie, real name Felix Kjellberg, celebrated a major milestone as he became the first individual YouTuber to reach 100 million subscribers.

PewDiePie also married his longtime girlfriend Marzia Bisognin that same week.
