Traffic warning for A370 due to emergency repairs

Temporary traffic lights are being put up on a busy commuter route today (June 7) while emergency repairs are carried out to replace a dangerous manhole cover.

North Somerset Council will be carrying out emergency repairs to the A370 in Flax Bourton and hoped the work will be finished before the rush hour.

However, today’s rain may mean it will take longer for the road surface to set.

A council spokesperson said: “We have to do emergency roadworks on the A370 in Flax Bourton to replace a dangerous manhole cover.

“Our crews will use temporary traffic lights to get this done and hope to be finished before the rush hour.

What to do if you're stuck in traffic

“But today's rain means it could take longer for the repaired road surface to set, so the lights may have to stay up until tomorrow.”

People can keep up to date with the situation on the North Somerset Council website.
