Traffic stopped on the M60 after crash between two lorries and a car

Traffic was stopped on the M60 due to a crash between two lorries and a car. 

All vehicles were halted while the emergency services attended a crash on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junction 17 and 16. 

North West Motorway Police said the crash involved two HGVs and a car.

"We are currently en route to a collision on M60 anticlock Junction 17 to 16 involving 2 x HGVs and several cars. Highways England just arrived at scene," North West Motorway Police Tweeted.

"The carriageway is currently blocked."

One lane is still blocked but all others have been opened.

Traffic is said to be moving again.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to the crash at around 3.33pm on Sunday.

Firefighters were at the scene for 40 minutes.

Drivers and passengers had managed to get themselves out of vehicles and did not require assistance from the fire service.

No one is believed to have been seriously injured.
