Traffic restricted in Manuka after vehicle fire in Coles carpark

Three people have been assessed for injuries following a car fire in the carpark at Manuka Coles.

Emergency services were called to Flinders Way at around 6pm, the three people treated were not believed to have been occupants of the car and did not require transportation to hospital.

While the fire was extinguished quickly, access to Franklin Street was cut off and will remain restricted until the area is declared to be safe.

ACT Fire and Rescue and ACT Ambulance Service attended the car fire in Manuka. The cause of the incident was unknown.

Two ACTF&R pumpers, along with haz mat and breathing apparatus were still on scene at around 6.30pm.

An emergency service spokesperson said they expected a police investigation would follow.
