Traffic police uncover secret compartment in a car leading to 'biggest cash haul'

Traffic police from Derby uncover a secret compartment containing cash hidden in the undercarriage of a car.

The new episode of Traffic Cops comes across the rare find as the Derbyshire Police team target criminal gangs across the county.

The episode will be aired on Monday, November 4 at 8pm on Channel 5.

At Ripley Police Station, Sgt Mark Ryan briefs his team having just received a hot tip on the whereabouts of a suspect van with possible links to drug dealing.

The van is believed to be travelling from the North West and linked to a gang who traffic drugs and cash around country on regular basis.

On the M1, with enough cop cars in position to box the van to a stop, road crime officer PC Nick Lovatt calls in a strike that will eventually lead to one of Derbyshire Police’s "biggest ever cash haul."

In the episode, police check the under carriage of the van and even call in the dog unit and forensic camera experts.

PC Lovatt said: "We struck gold."
