Traffic lights out at busy Glasgow city centre junction

The traffic lights are out at Renfield Street/Union Street and Gordon Street in Glasgow city centre - causing problems for motorists and pedestrians in the area.

The junction includes one of the busiest pedestrian crossings in the city being located as it is adjacent to the entrance to Glasgow Central Station.

While it is also busy with vehicles as well as taxis and buses.

A member of the public has informed Glasgow Live that "it’s bit worrying seeing a lot of motorist driving at same speed through on unlit junction with pedestrians running across".

Glasgow City Council's Traffic Control and Management team (TRAFFCOM) have confirmed that they are aware of the problems with Scottish Power engineers on site to fix it.
