Traffic light failure on Queens Drive causing massive tailbacks

Heavy traffic is backing up on a major Liverpool junction as a result of a light failure.

Traffic signals are not working at the junction of Queens Drive , Rocky Lane and Thingwall Road in the Childwall area.

Temporary signals are now in place, however, delays are expected at the junction as a result.

Liverpool Council has said that engineers are investigating the signalling problem and a currently working to fix the fault.

A spokesperson for the council tweeted: "A traffic signal failure has occurred at the junction of Queens Drive/Rocky Lane/Thingwall Road in Childwall area of Liverpool.

"Engineers are investigating to resolve the fault and temporary signals are now in use. Our apologies for the delays this may cause."
