Traffic halted on the M60 between Hollinwood and Ashton due to police incident

Traffic has been halted on a stretch of the M60 due to a police incident.

The clockwise carriageway is blocked between junction 20, Hollinwood, and junction 23, Ashton, while police officers support a person in distress.

There are a long tailbacks along the M60 clockwise.

A GMP spokesman said: "We are attending someone in distress on a bridge."

The anti-clockwise carriageway is still open.

North West Motorway Police said on Twitter: "J22-23 M60 CW is closed between Hollinwood and Ashton due to a Police incident."
