Traffic delays on M8 at Glasgow Fort as drivers queue for shops reopening

There are delays on the M8 motorway this morning with drivers queuing for Glasgow Fort as shops reopen.

With our city entering level 3 lockdown today, non-essential shops across the city have been permitted to welcome in customers once more since 6am.

Although the city centre has been relatively quiet so far this morning, it appears Glaswegians are heading to the Fort for their Christmas shopping.

Traffic Scotland say: " #M8 westbound J10 offslip for @glasgowfort.

"Traffic now queuing onto the motorway."

"#ExpectDelays heading that way and #TakeCare on your approach."

Under level 3 lockdown, travel restrictions remain in place meaning people from outwith Glasgow cannot travel to the city to go shopping.
