Traffic delays on A77 bypass in Ayr as drivers advised to take alternative route

Drivers are being advised to avoid the A77 bypass between Holmston and Whitletts in Ayr this morning.

A broken down car in the northbound lane is leading to lengthy tailbacks of more than 20 minutes.

Nearby gas works in the area are also causing traffic to back up between both roundabouts.

Drivers are advised to take an alternative route if possible.
