Traffic delays as Dublin Fire Brigade attend to car fire on M50

Commuters faced delays as Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the scene of a car fire on the M50 today.

Commuters were warned of long delays after emergency services were at the scene of the incident.

The fire happened on J12 Firhouse - J13 Dundrum Southbound on the M50.

Traffic had come to a standstill following the incident but all lanes have been reopened to traffic now.

Dublin Fire Brigade said in a tweet: “We've just finished at vehicle fire on @M50Dublin J12 Firhouse - J13 Dundrum Southbound.

“Lanes have reopened #Dublin #fire #traffic #M50 @DCCTraffic @aaroadwatch”

A garda spokesperson said on Twitter: “DUBLN TRAFFIC - Delays M50 southbound between J12 Firhouse & 13 Dundrum following a car fire.

“All lanes have now reopened to traffic.”
