Traffic cops have cordoned off a Glasgow street this morning after a man was struck by a car.
Officers have been on the scene opposite the Daily Record building on Central Quay at the junction with Hydepark Street since around 4am on Wednesday.
The pedestrian was been rushed to Queens Elizabeth University Hospital after suffering serious injuries in the incident.
A silver private hire taxi with a smashed front windscreen was behind the police cordon as officers diverted traffic as rush hour approached.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 4.05am on Wednesday, October 9, police were called to a report of a man struck by a Seat car on Anderston Quay, Glasgow.
"The injured man was taken to The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.
"Officers are working to establish his identity at this time and enquiries will continue into the cause of the crash."
