Traffic chaos on M8 as police race to rush hour crash near Glasgow Airport

A crash on the M8 is causing major delays to rush hour commuters this morning.

Emergency services raced to the scene following an accident on the eastbound junction 28 just beyond the onslip for Glasgow Airport.

One lane has remained closed as traffic builds up on the busy motorway.

Queues are back to junction 29A with delays of around 25 minutes and also onto the A737 back to Linwood, where delays of about 20 minutes are currently being reported.

Trunk Road Incident Support Service officers are currently on the scene.

The extent of the crash is not yet clear.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.25am, we received report of a one-vehicle road traffic crash on M8 at junction 28 eastbound at the off-slip. No-one is injured and officers are in attendance."
