A four-vehicle crash on the Edinburgh bypass has sparked early morning traffic chaos.
Police were called to the scene of the smash on the A720 westbound between Lasswade and Gilmerton, Midlothian, around 7am on Monday January 18.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash, but thankfully there have been no injuries.
However pictures posted on social media showed massive tailbacks, with the road appearing rammed despite the 'stay at home' coronavirus restrictions.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 7am to a report of a four vehicle crash on the A720 Edinburgh city bypass between Lasswade and Gilmerton, westbound.
"There does not appear to be any injuries and vehicle recovery is underway."
Traffic Scotland tweeted to say motorists should expect delays of 25 minutes.
